Folk at the Salmon Bothy Festival, 2nd – 4th June

If you’re up in the North East of Scotland this weekend, be sure to check out the Folk at the Salmon Bothy festival, The Eighth Haal – a weekend of traditional songs, tunes, stories, poetry, dance, workshops and music sessions in Portsoy, home of Hamlyns oat mill. The festival takes place in venues throughout the village.

We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Jimmy McBeath Memorial Concert, which takes place in Portsoy Town Hall on Friday night. It’s going to be a great evening of music from a range of performers including traditional Scottish singer Sheena Wellington, folk musician Dave Goulder, young ballad singer Iona Fyfe, singer/guitarist Luc McNally and lively dance band Coracree, all the way from the USA.

Doors open at 7pm and the evening runs from 7.30pm until 10.30pm. Tickets are £15 – contact Bob Philips on 01261 842571 or email bobphilips25@live.co.uk.

Full details of the three-day festival are available here.
