We’re all getting excited about Taste of Grampian, the North East of Scotland’s premier food and drink festival, which takes place at the Thainston Centre in Inverurie this Saturday (3rd June). Celebrity chef James Martin will be doing demos throughout the day. We’ll be trying to sneak in a selfie with him – along with everyone else at the show no doubt!

The event features a vast array of food and drink producers from across Grampian, offering a huge range of products from smoked salmon to shortbread, ice cream, prime meats and fantastic fish, creamy fudge, jams and chutneys, whisky, spirits and much more.

You’ll find the Hamlyns team on stand 108 in the concourse. We’ll have some great show offers to tempt you so do come along to see us, and tell us whether you’re a sweet or salty porridge eater!

We’re delighted to be sponsoring the workshops in the Children’s Educational Marquee and have teamed up with the Garioch Community Kitchen who will be helping the younger visitors to make a healthy fruity pudding with toasted oats, fruit and yoghurt. Drop in between 10am and 4pm – it’s all free of charge. Children can also try out their hand at oat grinding, pressing rape seed oil, peddling the smoothie bike and the waste awareness challenge, so there’s plenty to keep them busy.

And don’t miss the Mart Fest, the new after party, which runs from 5pm – 11pm. It’s going to be a great evening with a fusion of craft brewers, spirits and cider makers, alongside street food, a piano bar and an accoustic lounge featuring live performances from some fantastic local singer songwriters, culminating with the amazing Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
