Congratulations to St Sylvester’s

Congratulations to the hard-working pupil community group at St Sylvester’s Primary School in Elgin who recently won the Moray Young Citizen Award 2019 for their work with Moray School Bank, a children’s charity in Moray offering new school uniforms and warm clothing to underprivileged children.

Moray Young Citizen Awards are given to young people in Moray to celebrate their achievements in and out of the classroom.

Moray Council’s Head of Schools and Curriculum Development, Vivienne Cross, said that the stories behind the finalists were ‘inspirational’, and presented the pupils with a £500 prize for their work, which the pupils decided to split between Moray School Bank and the school’s Equity Fund.

Headteacher, Mrs Evans said: “We are so proud of the example that they have set and I know they all had a wonderful night at the awards ceremony in the Mansfield hotel.”

We were delighted to help the St Sylvester’s pupils with samples and products for their fundraising.
