It was great to return to Our Lady and St Patrick’s High School in Dumbarton today, to present prizes to the winners of this year’s Scottish Recipe Book Challenge.
We’ve been working with Mrs Cullen, Head of Home Economics at the school (pictured above with this year’s winners), for the last 12 years, supporting a range of activities and competitions to promote healthy eating and an awareness of Scottish produce and traditional Scottish recipes. This year’s recipe book challenge was expanded to include a focus on sustainability, and messages around buying local and buying Scottish produce. In addition, this year for the first time the department ran a competition to design a healthy oat bar, which culminated in a ‘Bake Off’ style final, which we enjoyed judging.
We look forward to working with the school again in the 2019/2020 school year.
