Carstairs Primary School is a lovely new-build school in Carstairs, South Lanarkshire. Yesterday, we visited the school and presented at a whole-school assembly as part of the Food for Thought campaign, talking to the pupils about oat production, the history of oats, healthy eating and careers in the food industry.
Several of the children come from farming families, and one pupil told us how she enjoys going out with her dad on the combine harvester during harvest time – we’d love to to that too!
Today the pupils are doing a follow-up to our visit, making and eating porridge. They had lots of great suggestions for porridge toppings when we visited yesterday – we hope that you enjoy the porridge everyone!
