One of our favourite local events, the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival at Portsoy, is going online this year, celebrating the marine heritage, culture, food and drink and many other things that make Portsoy such a unique and special town.
The line up includes music from Celtic rock band Skerryvore and Scots trad musician Iona Fyfe, fancy ropework and tricks from the award-winning Skip 2 The Beat, a tour of Little Rowater, the family farm that features in BBC Scotland’s ‘This Farming Life’ crafts, food and drink, virtual tours on some beautiful local boats, a special Sea Shanty, a behind-the-scenes look at Portsoy’s boat building centre and lots more.
We’re delighted to be able to support the event, thanks to help from TikTok sensation the Hebridean Baker, local food blogger Angie Milne The Wee Larder, chef Rory Lovie from Bridgeview Station and the Elgin Youth Cafe who have all made videos for us showcasing different sweet and savoury oat dishes.
You’ll be able to watch them on the festival website over the weekend of 26 and 27 June.
We’ll also have a competition running with three of our highly-coveted Perfect Porridge Packs up for grabs.
It’s all free to attend. Just register to receive the link at stbfportsoy.org
