You can use fresh or tinned pumpkin puree for this recipe which has all the flavours of pecan pie in a warming porridge bowl – what’s not to love?

To make simply put your oats, milk, pumpkin puree and spices into a pan. Bring to a rolling boil then reduce the heat and simmer for around four minutes, stirring regularly.

Scatter with pecans and drizzle with syrup before serving.

 

 

You can make fresh pumpkin puree by roasting, steaming or microwaving chunks of pumpkin, then blitzing them to a smooth puree.
