• Method

  1. Heat the oven to 190C/170 Fan/375F/Gas 5.
  2. Lightly oil a roasting tin.
  3. Put the minced meat, sausage meat and oats into a bowl and mix well.
  4. Season with a little salt and pepper, and the spices if you are using them, then bind with the beaten egg to a stiff consistency (you might not need all of the egg)
  5. Shape into small balls about the size of a walnut and lay onto the roasting tin.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes then turn over to cook the underside and cook for a further 8 to 10 minutes untill crisp.
  7. Spear with a cocktail stick and serve warm with cranberry sauce, or try with other dips such as sweet chilli.
